IFMBE meetings in Sydney

IFMBE Administrative Council meets once a year in connection with IFMBE sponsored scientific meetings. This year the meeting is scheduled to take place in Sydney two days before the opening of the World Congress 2003. AC meeting starts on August 21 at 9.00 a.m. in Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbor and ends on August 22 at 5.00 p.m. The documents for this meeting are:

All members are invited to acquaint themselves with the contents of the documents listed above. The IFMBE Officers, AC members and Chairmen of the Division, Committees and Working Groups should study carefully these documents prior to the meeting. The documents are downloadable pdf-files.

IFMBE Secretaries Committee meeting will be held on Sunday, August 24, in Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbor. The meeting will begin at 9.00 a.m. and end at 2.00 p.m. The room where the meeting will be held is Terrace 1. 

The member Societies are requested to send their Annual Reports to Professor Marc Nyssen,marc@minf.vub.ac.be, the chairman of the committee, to Assoc.professor Ratko Magjarevic, ratko.magjarevic@fer.hr and to Secretary General Heikki Terio, heikki.terio@hs.se.

Following countries have sent their annual reports: Canada, Czech Republic, Belgium, Brazil, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Sweden.

IFMBE General Assembly will be held on Wednesday, August 27, at 3.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. The assembly meeting will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Prymont Room 1.

The General Assembly controls and directs the policy and affairs of the Federation. Therefore it is a very important authority of IFMBE. During this meeting we will elect new officers and members of the Administrative Council and members of the boards of Clinical Engineering Division and Division for Healthcare Technology Assessment. You can study the Agenda and information about the persons who have been nominated to the various offices and positions thorough the links. All the above mentioned reports and documents are also handled at the General Assembly meeting like the minutes from the General Assembly meeting held in Chicago 2000.

Paper copies of the documents are available Monday, August 25 at the IFMBE booth in the Exhibition area.
